Let them eat cake!

Storm Troopers get hungry too

My favorite part of this photo shoot was photographing my cousin. She was so excited to dress up and smile for me, yet I ended up using the two photos where she wasn't paying attention to the camera. She was also super excited to be given food after sitting patiently through the first few pictures.

Radio Silence

Radio silence can form two definitions. One is the point when you are so frustrated or upset, you feel like you are about to break. This is seen through the business of the trees, and how it seems loud and frustrating. The second definition is the comforting aspect of radio silence. I find this silence through running, because I can let all the frustration out alone.

Make, Leave, and Miss your Mark

Make Your Mark

Leave Your Mark

Missed Your Mark

I decided to take a darker turn with this shoot. When I heard the phrase "make your mark" the first thing that came into my head was the marks people make on themselves. Following this idea, "leave your mark" made me thing of the marks that people have left on their skin and "missed your mark" was when others miss the marks on peoples skin.
The first photo represents the making of the mark on their skin. The second photo of the person pulling down their sleeve shows how the marks they made are on their skin are left there, even when they try to hide them. The last photo of the two people handshaking represents how obvious marks people have made seem, but are clearly missed by many.
I choose to use selective color in this because the black and white images bring the darker feel into the photos, and focusing on the red draws the viewers eyes to the main subject of the photo.
The reason I choose this darker theme is because I've had close friends make marks on themselves, and for a while I was one of the people that seemed to miss it.

*No model nor photographer were injured during this photography shoot*

Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope
When I looked up the definition of kaleidoscope I saw a lot of dictionaries and websites describing it has "constantly changing pattern or sequence of color" and "whirring of colors" This gave me the idea to duplicate the image multiple times as seen in the first image above. The "whirring of colors" reminded me of the time when I learned to make "little planets" in Photoshop, which was my inspiration for the second photo above.

A Question...

Would you like to be proudest of your ACCOMPLISHMENTS or your CHARACTER?

I would rather be proudest of my character than of my accomplishments. If I accomplished amazing things, but had an awful character where everyone hated me, then there's no point in accomplishing amazing things if I can share them with the people I love. I can set my accomplishments aside so I can congratulate or help another.
I decided the best way to "set my accomplishments aside" was to actually set them aside. The disorganized closet and dull lighting represents how the the medals and trophy of my accomplishments were set aside, and by putting them in a box, its like forgetting about them.
